Today I See

Today I see the beauty around me.
Clear blue sky behind the tree out my window.
Shadows, movement, contrast,
all apart of my world of painting
of seeing of feeling.
Painting is feeling.
I tell my students,
if you can see it you can paint it,
and if you can feel it, it shows.
I see the bright light on my shed,
I see branches on the tree
crossing over one another.
I see big and little,
I see lost and found,
I see dark and light,
I see warm and cool.
When I paint I can be apart of what I see.
What do you see today?
Isn't it wonderful to look for
and see the beauty around us,
and then express that beauty in what you do
